The mission of the Behavioral Health Division is to help individuals and families maintain a balanced lifestyle by providing professional and confidential behavioral health services and resources that are culturally appropriate to the urban Native American community. The NATIVE HEALTH Behavioral Health Division is Arizona State Department of Health Services Licensed as an outpatient treatment center and for misdemeanor domestic violence offender and treatment services.
Mental health services include: Individual, family and group counseling, parent and youth counseling. NATIVE HEALTH provides counseling services to address numerous concerns including depression, couples/marital issues, parenting skills building, grief and loss, stress management, self-esteem enhancement, dating and family violence and sexual assault intervention, referrals and counseling. Additional fees may be required for misdemeanor domestic violence offender treatment services and driver's license reinstatement classes and other counseling services. Alcohol and substance programs include: DUI Services: screening, education and treatment, driver’s license reinstatement screenings, and adolescent substance abuse programs. Additional fees may be required for substance abuse screening/assessment services.
Licensed DUI Program - New session starting January 12th - State licensed Level I DUI Education and Treatment which consists of 16 hours of DUI education and at least 20 hours of substance abuse treatment. Level II DUI education consists of 16 hours of education. Each person must complete an initial intake and screening and attend weekly scheduled DUI group sessions. Both Level I and II group sessions will complete their respective DUI programs within eight weeks of the first class. Each DUI group session is 2.5 hours in length and are held from 6:00-8:30 p.m. on respective scheduled days. Fees for both Level I and II DUI programs are $120.00 and a screening fee of $75.00 is required. Money orders made out to NATIVE HEALTH will only be accepted. Youth Substance Abuse Program: The NATIVE HEALTH Strengthening the Journey Program, a substance abuse treatment service for Native American teens 13-18, is currently available with no waiting for admission. Program staff work with youth and their families to overcome the challenges associated with substance abuse. The program is offered free of charge. The Strengthening the Journey Program utilizes a highly researched treatment model, the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach. NATIVE HEALTH Women's Services: Provides intervention, referrals, and counseling for women ages 13 and older who have been victimized by sexual assault and/or domestic violence. Native American Pathways Program: FREE HIV/AIDS prevention, counseling, testing and referrals. HIV test results are available within ten (10) minutes or less. Track change is a program that provides free one-on-one HIV prevention services. This program is funded by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
