NATIVE HEALTH’s Health Start Program Indigenous Courses presents its second workshop: Fourth Trimester Foods— Postpartum Nutrition, on Thursday, June 24, 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. via Zoom, and instructed by Felica Ruiz.

All across the world, traditional cultures put a heavy emphasis on postpartum foods to help rebalance a person’s system after giving birth. Though there may be regional flavors, dishes, and cuisines, the foundation is the same: warming, healing, and iron rich foods are encouraged to help the new mother heal, paired with various spices and herbs to support milk production.

The first 25 participants who register below will receive, by mail, Woman’s Raspberry Leaf Tea.

Felicia Cocotzin Ruiz is a curanderismo practitioner, natural foods chef, and folk herbalist working nearly three decades teaching food as medicine–in efforts to educate and support her community back to health both physically and spiritually. If there are any questions please feel free to reach out to Daili Lister at (480) 550-4048, ext. 3810 or email:
