NATIVE HEALTH Home Visiting Program Presents: Summer STEM Series for Young Explorers! (Ages 0–5) Get ready to spark curiosity and creativity!
Tuesdays in July (starting July 8) at 10 AM, join us virtually as we read a STEM-themed children’s book and dive into an exciting, hands-on activity designed especially for little learners ages 0–5. Each week, we’ll explore exciting STEM concepts through Storytime and hands-on activities—perfect for curious little minds! Parents will gain tips and tools to extend the learning at home. All sessions are virtual and materials will be provided.
 
The series will showcase the following:
🧪 Week 1: Introduction to Science – All About the Senses!

📅 Tuesday, July 8 ⏰10:00–11:00 AM
📚Book: Look, Listen, Taste, Touch & Smell! Your Five Senses by Pamela Hill Nettleton
🧤Activity: Ooey Gooey Sensory Play
Let’s dive into the world of our five senses! Children will create slimy sensory bags while learning to observe, describe, and connect with their environment. Expect fun, language development, and a little mess!

🏗Week 2: Engineering Fun!

📚Book: When I Build With Blocks by Niki Alling
🔧Activity: Building Block Challenge
It’s time to build! Little engineers will explore basic design and construction by working to build the tallest tower they can. This week encourages collaboration, problem-solving, and creative thinking.

🔢Week 3: Math in Nature – Discovering Shapes & Patterns
📅 When: July 22  ⏰ 10:00–11:00 AM
📚Book: Pebbles and the Biggest Number by Joey Benun
🔧Activity: I Spy with My Little Eye – Summer Wind Chime Craft
Children will observe the world around them and explore patterns and shapes found in nature. We’ll build a wind chime using natural and everyday items to practice sorting, counting, and pattern-making.

🤖Week 4: The World of Robotics – Get into Gear!
📅 When: July 29 ⏰  Time: 10:00–11:00 AM
🧪 Activity: Build Your Own Robot
In our grand finale, little ones will use simple materials to design and build paper robots. This activity introduces basic mechanical concepts, encourages movement, and promotes imaginative STEM play.
