NATIVE HEALTH’s Youth Resiliency Program invites you to join our Young Indigenous Readers Summer Book Club starting on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 6 – 7 p.m. at NATIVE HEALTH Central – Phoenix. We will be reading “The Heart of a Chief” by Joseph Bruchac. This story centers on a young Native boy who fights to protect his heritage and culture.
Enjoy fun activities in between chapters and participate in discussions. As an additional activity, we will also work on learning and developing a poem that will reflect on Native American culture during our two month series! Our next meetings following June 9 will be Tuesday, June 30 at NATIVE HEALTH Central, Wednesday, July 8 at NHW Community Health Center, and July 22 at NHW Community Health Center.
Book Club members will receive a free book and additional supplies for activities. Light refreshments provided.
