The Elders Talking Circle provides a safe and welcoming space for Native American community members ages 55 and older to come together in connection, support, and shared understanding. Participants listen to one another as they share personal stories, feelings, and wisdom. Through these conversations, elders are able to process intergenerational trauma, strengthen emotional health, and foster healing within themselves and their community.

The Recovery Talking Circle focuses on healing through shared stories and breaking cycles of addiction and trauma within a supportive community environment. The circle promotes recovery by creating a “healing forest” that reduces shame, fosters connection, and encourages mutual support. Participants are guided by shared values of confidentiality, nonjudgment, respectful listening, and deep reflection rather than direct confrontation, creating a safe space for healing and personal growth.

The purpose of smudging is to practice traditional ceremonial cleansing using sage, cedar, or sweetgrass to remove negative energy, reduce anxiety, and clear away impurities. Smudging is also used to bless a person, place, or object with positive, peaceful energy and promote balance, healing, and spiritual well-being.
