Wellness Warriors

The NATIVE HEALTH Wellness Warriors Program is looking for Native American children (ages 7 to 12 years old) and their families, who are interested in learning about healthy living.

The NATIVE HEALTH Wellness Warriors Program serves Native American children (ages 7 to 12 years old) and their families, who are interested in learning about healthy living. The Wellness Warriors Program incorporates fun, engaging, and exciting activities that promote healthfy eating and activities to encourage physical activity. Activities include Traditional and Community gardening, Cooking Matters classes, a Bike Rodeo, basketball, Living Well Traditionally Youth Diabetes Prevention Camp and more.

2018 Wellness Warriors events include: 

January 13 – North Mountain Paved Trail Hike

February 10 – Soccer at Steele Indian School Park

March 10 – Walk down Central Avenue with Walk for the Land and the People

April 14 – Softball at Steele Indian School park

May 12 – Basketball at North Phoenix Baptist Church

May 29-June 1 – Living Well Traditionally Youth Diabetes Prevention Camp at Mingus Mountain Methodist Church

July 14 – Bowling at Christown Bowling

August 11 – Indoor exercise class at  NATIVE HEALTH – Central

September 8 – Basketball at Steele Indian School Park

November 3 – Wellness Warriors Bike Rodeo at NATIVE HEALTH – Central Ave.

November 10 – Soccer at Steele Indian School Park

December 8 – Exercise indoors at Breakfast with Santa at NATIVE HEALTH- Central
